Wikipedia Trails: From Yamato to Polytheism

I wanted to learn  more about one of the heroes in the reading, Yamato Takeru. I learned that he has been compared to the legend of King Arthur in many ways. I then learned that King Arthur may be based on a half-forgotten Celtic deity, which I obviously wanted to know more about. From there, I learned that the Celtics believed in multiple gods, or that they practiced polytheism.

  1. I always find the history and lore of the Celts to be particularly interesting. I took a class on the Legal History of England, and prior to taking the course, I didn’t really understand how unique those early European tribes were in their customs. The Anglo-Saxons either killed or assimilated the Celts, which is a real shame considering how beautiful Celtic culture is.
